1. About these terms
Magikal is a reading platform operated by Magikal Ventures (Registration No. 202503278683 / 003784218-D), a business registered in Malaysia with its principal place of business at 21-B, Persiaran Pegaga, Taman Bayu Perdana, 41200 Klang, Selangor, Malaysia.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and us covering your use of magikal.co and everything on it — browsing the catalogue, holding an account, buying titles, and reading them. In these Terms, "Magikal", "we", "us" and "our" mean Magikal Ventures; "you" means you.
By using Magikal, creating an account, or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data and forms part of these Terms.
2. Who may use Magikal
You may use Magikal if you are at least 18 years old, or if you are between 13 and 18 and your parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on your behalf and permits your use of the site. Magikal is not intended for children under 13.
If you are using Magikal on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.
3. Your account
You need an account to buy or read titles on Magikal. You can create one directly or by signing in with Google.
You agree to give accurate registration information and keep it current. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, and for keeping your password and sign-in credentials confidential. Tell us at once at
Your account is personal to you. You may not share it, sell it, transfer it, or let anyone else use it to access titles you have purchased.
We may suspend or close an account that we reasonably believe is being shared, is being used to breach these Terms, or has been created with false information.
4. What you are buying
This is the part worth reading carefully.
When you buy a title on Magikal, you are not buying the book itself. You are buying a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to read that title on Magikal, for your own private and non-commercial use, for as long as your account remains open and we continue to make the title available.
Under that licence you may read the title through the Magikal reader on any device you sign in from, and make ordinary personal use of it.
You may not:
- download, copy, extract, or convert the title's files, or attempt to;
- circumvent, disable or interfere with any access control, watermark or protection we apply;
- share, resell, sub-licence, rent, lend or redistribute the title, or give anyone else access to it through your account;
- reproduce, publish, translate or adapt the title, or create derivative works from it;
- use the title, or any part of it, to train, fine-tune or evaluate a machine learning or artificial intelligence system; or
- use automated tools to scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download content from Magikal.
Ordinary quotation for review, criticism, reporting, teaching or research remains permitted to the extent allowed by the Copyright Act 1987.
5. Availability of titles
We do our best to keep titles you have bought available to you indefinitely, but we cannot promise it. A title may have to be withdrawn — because a licence with a rights holder ends, because of a legal or rights complaint, or for another reason outside our control.
If a title you have purchased is withdrawn permanently and you have owned it for less than 12 months, we will refund what you paid for it. Beyond that period, we will give you as much notice as we reasonably can, but no refund is due.
We may also change, suspend or discontinue parts of Magikal, including features of the reader, at any time.
6. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise at checkout.
Payments are processed by PayPal. You may pay using a PayPal balance or a card accepted by PayPal, and PayPal's own terms apply to that transaction. We do not receive or store your full card details. Your purchase is complete when we confirm it to you, not when you submit payment details.
We may change prices at any time. A price change does not affect a purchase you have already completed.
If a title is listed at an obviously incorrect price through a pricing or typographical error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than supply at that price.
7. Refunds
Because titles are digital and delivered immediately, purchases are generally final once you have opened or begun reading a title.
We will refund you where:
- the file is faulty, corrupt or will not open, and we cannot fix it;
- you were charged more than once for the same title;
- you bought a title you already own; or
- you request a refund within 48 hours of purchase and have not read past the first 10% of the title.

Nothing here removes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 that cannot be excluded by agreement.
8. Reviews, comments and anything else you post
You may be able to post reviews, ratings or comments on Magikal. You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to host, display, reproduce, adapt and distribute it in connection with operating and promoting Magikal.
You confirm that what you post is yours to post and does not infringe anyone's rights. You agree not to post anything that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, obscene, hateful, deceptive, or that discloses another person's private information; anything that infringes copyright or trade marks; spam, advertising or links to malware; or anything generated to manipulate ratings.
We may remove or edit anything posted on Magikal, at our discretion and without notice. We are not obliged to monitor what users post, and we do not endorse it.
9. Our intellectual property
The Magikal name, logo, site design, software, reader interface, catalogue arrangement, descriptions and all other material we produce are owned by Magikal Ventures or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws. Titles available on Magikal remain the property of their respective authors and rights holders.
Nothing in these Terms gives you any right in our intellectual property beyond the reading licence in section 4.
10. Copyright complaints
If you believe material on Magikal infringes your copyright, write to

11. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use Magikal for any unlawful purpose; interfere with or disrupt the site, its servers or its security; attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, another user's account, or our systems; probe or scan for vulnerabilities; impersonate anyone; or use the site in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
12. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time by writing to
We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe your use of the site risks harm to us or to other users. Where we terminate your account for a reason other than your breach, we will refund the unused portion of any recent purchase on a fair basis.
Sections 4, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15 and 17 survive termination.
13. Disclaimers
Magikal is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses, or that any defect will be corrected.
We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of the content of any title, and we are not responsible for the views expressed in works published on Magikal, which are those of their authors.
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, we exclude all warranties, conditions and terms implied by statute or common law other than those that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or anticipated savings, however caused; and
- our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of Magikal, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statute or otherwise, is limited to the greater of the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or RM200.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
15. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of Magikal, or anything you post on the site.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and where the changes materially affect your rights we will notify you by email or by a notice on the site before they take effect. Continuing to use Magikal after that means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, close your account.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest remain in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign your rights under these Terms; we may assign ours in connection with a sale or reorganisation of the business. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding Magikal.
