The creature of terror is the most feared monster in the Immortal Lord's army. No one knows what it looks like. It is said that if you see it with your own eyes, it will kill you, and its victims die without a fight.

Swordmasters know it only from stories told at the Academy. Those who meet it cannot remember what they saw. Inside the abandoned mansion, a dying Swordmaster blames it for his squad's fate, and Gideon is struck by the strange feeling that he has met it before.

The people of the Outside World call it a Wraith. It is invisible until it chooses you. Its victims are paralysed by their worst fears, die, and rise as ghouls. Paladin Light magic destroys it easily.

A Wraith is a floating, dark-robed figure. It attacks the mind first, with fear, and makes its victims forget it. Its touch kills instantly. Only Light magic or great courage can resist it, and a sword can kill it if you get close enough. Twelve years ago, a Wraith killed Gideon's best friend, Xing.
