Time Monks

The Time Monks were an elite order that wielded the element of Time, a power that could even reach the timeline itself. Hezekiah destroyed them first, and they are believed to be extinct.

The order

Hezekiah wiped out the Time Monks early in his war, hungry for their power over time. Few people remember they ever existed.

Ryo is the last surviving Time Monk. He can slow time for the people around him. He lost his wife and baby daughter when the order fell, and he hides his power even from New Haven's Leadership, because using it leaves him in despair.

Spoilers up to Chapter 9Tap to reveal

Time power can counter immortality, which is why Hezekiah hunted the order down, and why Ryo believes he is the only one who can kill an immortal. But New Haven's Leadership has heard rumours that a Time Monk once betrayed his own kind to Hezekiah. Some Swordmasters, like Maleek, have been trained to resist Time powers.
